The excessive use of technology has taken its toll on all of us in today’s fast-paced society. Individuals have become accustomed to spending hours upon hours on Facebook, scrolling through their friends’ photos and Instagram posts, and then thinking how to upload a picture that is as attractive as their peers. Teenagers are engulfed so deeply in this daily attempt at personal recognition and acceptance that they are forced to waste long periods of time pursuing aimless ventures (such as posting a cool status) and become so obsessed with the idea of how many likes or comments their post received that they hardly ever have time to invest in their far more important studies. These people have a condition known as social media anxiety.

Regrettably, social media worry is quickly becoming the norm around the world. And it’s merely a product of our competitiveness with our peers or people our age, which can become so intense at times that people succumb to depressive and stressful episodes. It’s not good for you. And it’s a significant issue that has to be addressed. Here are some strategies for dealing with social media anxiety:

1. Quit comparing yourself to other people

Individuality distinguishes humans at all times. Your uniqueness is what sets you apart from the rest of the pack. Your own thoughts, opinions, and habits set you separate from everyone else, which is why you don’t need to transform into someone else to get the same level of notoriety. Recognize that your efforts and results, not your social media presence, define your success in life. More importantly, most people who are drowning under the weight of hundreds of love reactions and praises may not be really effective at anything other than exaggeration. As a result, in the case of these people, social media can be quite deceitful, so don’t believe everything you see!


2. Limit the amount of time you spend on your phone

Cutting back on your excessive use of social media is the most effective method to combat social media anxiety. Stop wasting time on your phone and instead pick a new and soothing hobby. Choose a book to read. Alternatively, go for a jog in the park, stretch your muscles, or play a game of football with your pals. It is far more productive to engage in these activities rather than wasting time on your phone. And believe me, it gets a lot better if you start diverting your attention away from social media. You’re suddenly able to devote more time to learning and are no longer prone to procrastination. So, buddy, life gets a whole lot better.

3. Exercise on a regular basis

Regular exercise improves blood flow and allows your brain to function more efficiently. It will assist you in keeping your cool, rescuing you from anxiety attacks, and keeping you calm and comfortable at all times. So make it a practice to jog in the park for an hour at least once a day, and you’ll be astonished at how relaxing it feels!
